MOVEMENT PRINCIPLES: Movement Principles is the pre-requisite for any Balanced Body training. This module provides a solid foundation for training in any environment, with any equipment. These simple movements and pre-Pilates exercises are built upon in all other Balanced Body modules. A focus on understanding common movement patterns prepares instructors to be excellent at problem solving, goal setting and learning new exercise techniques with ease.
Reformer 1 (16 hours)
Reformer 1 introduces the Reformer, the centre piece of the Pilates equipment studio and an invaluable training tool.
This modules includes a variety of supine, seated and standing exercises for the beginner to intermediate client that build upon concepts learned in Movement Principles.
Reformer 1 includes guidelines for training clients with Osteoporosis or during pregnancy and post birth.
Reformer 2 (16 hours)
Reformer 2 expands the potential of the Reformer with intermediate and advanced repertoire.
Included are modifications and precautions, along with program designs, for special populations including lower back.
Class design, dynamic assessment and correcting common dysfunctional movement patterns are also focused on during this module, with lots of hands on teaching experience.
Reformer 3 (16 hours)
Reformer 3 is the pinnacle of the Reformer work and includes advanced and super advanced exercises to challenge clients to achieve their best.
Reformer 3 builds a strong understanding of how instructors can break down more complex movements to make them achievable for a range of clientele.
There is also a strong focus on programming and exercise sequencing for successful classes.

* Reformer 3 – Course work and test (16 hours)
* 30 Reformer personal sessions, 30 observation hours and 90 student teaching hours completed at a studio of your choice.
* Final written and practical test
Total 214 hours (not including anatomy).
